In Her Garden, Self Portrait n.3
In Her Garden, Self Portrait
18” x 24”, mixed media on heavy weight paper
In Her Garden is the third piece in my ongoing Self Portrait series—an introspective body of work where I explore the many layers of identity through mixed media and emotion-led mark-making. Created on heavy weight paper, this piece blends acrylics, charcoal, and other intuitive textures, inviting organic movement and softness into the surface.
This work feels like a quiet return to self—like stepping into an inner garden, where thoughts and memories bloom, sometimes wild and tangled, sometimes delicate and intentional. It’s a moment of reflection, growth, and gentle strength. Each layer reveals not just who I am, but the internal space I nurture to become.
In Her Garden captures a self-portrait not in features, but in feeling. It is about tending to the internal, allowing beauty to grow in the unspoken spaces.
